Condensation
In chronological order...here we go!
Went to some golf course where we sweated it out, digging, raking, planting turf cells. My god, do you know how freaking heavy a short roll of turf is?! Got blessed by holy irrigation water courtesy of my cheeky buggy driver (meaning he drove us right UNDER the path of the water sprinklers - we got soaked naturally which was a bit of a relief, considering the scorching hot weather). Being there completely did NOT seem like being in Singapore - the weather was akin to Australia's or Thailand's with clear blue skies and the lack of humidity. The view was great though.
It was then back to the same place again the next day for our last field trip - we headed for Singapore's wetlands reserve. The tour was rather boring but the trip was fun because we saw kingfishers, a horseshoe crab, plenty of other crabs on trees and did a spot of bird-watching. It was rather...funny in a sense when ALL the reports came back and no one had a good word thrown in for the tour guide! XD After all, we were there to learn from him how to be a better tour guide as part of our tour and park management so I guess we did learn in a sense. Best bit? One of our other lecturers was his teacher on guiding. Rofl.
That last trip also marked the end of our days as a normal student because after that...well, it was hell.
I had little sleep trying to finish my Plant Tissue Culture presentation on Elais guineensis (African Oil Palm). We got decent marks but let's just say we were lucky to even pass. He failed half the class...AGAIN. After that, it was off to sleep for a while before rushing out the group report, not ending until 3 plus with less than 2 hours to the deadline AND I still managed to submit it late. (Although in the end, she commented that was a fantastic report.) It had BETTER to freaking fantastic - after all, it was 57 pages long.
Hell, I think, is a week of no sleep, rushing to meet deadlines with the next week being exams. Yes, while other lucky students were busy mugging for their exams, we were busy struggling to finish some 6 panels of drawings - which meant about 18 drawings or so. Sounds easy right? Dear god, has this course taught me that even the simplest of task isn't as easy as they seem.
It was insane, coloring and drawing with tempers flaring and nerves being grated like parmesan cheese on pasta or pizza so I apologise to my entire team if I was offensive and hurtful. Really, truly sorry.
Time is tickin, time is tickin, time is tickin away...
It was a week of sleeping less than 2 hours daily, having one meal a day and having hand cramps. I think I'm sick of colouring for the time being. Seriously.
The day before presentation was the day we actually finished our drawings. At 11.45PM - when the school lights go off. There we were, figuring out what else to finish when darkness descended on us. Due to the fact that some of the school places are lit by motion-activated lights, we made silly movements in a hasty bid to get the lights back on but to no avail. Then we had to use what little light to pack up (handphones make good light torches btw). And school is insanely creepy at such hours.
After that, it was no sleep for the next few hours as we returned home and proceeded to finish presentations or whatever else we needed to do. Still, the best part was that the presentation itself was NOT completed until a few minutes before presentation time. Seriously super last minute work but thank goodness we kicked ass.
After that, I headed home and just crashed out. Tried studying for the finals that started on Monday but nothing went in my head. Finally managed to do a spot of studying only on Sunday so it meant almost no sleep for 36 hours or so as I struggled to mug. I wasn't the only one...I think half the class was in the same situation since after the exams, it seemed almost like a prerequisite to ask, "What time did you sleep yesterday?"
Most of our answers ranged from: 1 to 3am, 2 to 4am, didn't sleep (guess who...)
Of course, anyone can tell you that having insufficient sleep meant that your brains wouldn't be working at optimum levels (then again, when has it ever been?). So for my last paper, I actually screwed myself up.
4 questions worth 25 marks each.
No of questions attempted on paper: 4
Actual no of questions done: 2 whole question.
No of questions my brain died on: 2 whole questions.
Total possible number of marks obtained: 50
AWESOME right?
After that, it was off to pick out prom dresses and just generally hang out together.
God, I miss you guys and girls. Can't wait to meet up again soon...
Take care my lovely H&B squad.
Never forget...
WE KICK ASS!
PS: I'm still sleep-deprieved so gimme a few minutes to respond if you've called.
