Office down time.
May. 23rd, 2008 05:52 pmI've been stuck doing nothing on a lovely Friday when I could be out there window shopping! ARGH. It's the start of the Great Singapore Sale (but somehow I don't feel its impact because there's always some sale going on...)
I've realised that I'm really behind on writing my second report on the company and the fact that I don't record my days makes it worse. I'm supposed to be recording stuff every week but i've not recorded anything for the last what? 2 months? >.< Fine, I was lazy - there's no one to blame but myself. I'm writing this down so I can check on what I did later when I'm doing my report. Ah...procrastination.
Today sucked. Nothing to do since the architect hasn't came back to me regarding my queries so I've got little chance of completing my work anytime soon. Buggers. So I've been well...slacking. Which I absolutely hate - heck, there's nothing for me to do at work. Instead, I even fangirled - dled LQ WG and Shinee MVs to watch whilst pretending to work whenever the director comes by - I moved out of the conference room btw. Got my own space now - near the door. So guess who's the 'receptionist'? XD
Grabbed the chance to get out of the office when Esme forgot his drawings so I had to cab down all the way to Changi. Why the consultancy firm's located at such an 'ulu' place, I have no idea. The driver looked at me when I said, it's near the Changi Prison. I never knew prisons could be so damn large, massive even. Anyways, I dropped the drawings off and had to wait for the meeting to end, outside the meeting room. Bloody long meeting it was - I even managed to take a short nap.
Learnt a whole lot of things today though. From the merits of joining a private firm compared to govt bodies, to the difficulties of managing workers (like how the Sabah/Sarawak ones have a tendency to get drunk on pay day). The worse was when I had to reject my colleague's treat because of my dietary requirement - I know, I'm a tad hypocritical since I rarely pray. Made me feel bad though, despite the fact that I told him not to buy me anything since I already had lunch. I tried to lie my way through by saying I had a dinner appointment - it didn't work. I hated the fact that I had to explain why I couldn't eat the food. (But you can eat chicken right? So eat!) ARGH. Still, something nice to share later in August when I have to do my presentation on the company. I'd better get a damn A from the company damn it.
But seriously. Today? Totally useless day. I feel the need to write a Kihyun/Battle fic but I can't - my mind's a blank.
Ok, I'm leaving the office. I cannot wait to go home.
