The Stage
The stage is my playground,
It's the centre of my universe -
I've been Him for so long
I don't even remember the me from before.
Sometimes I feel empty inside
Like a vessel without the soul
Had I somehow forsaken the essence of humanity
In my endless thirst for fame?
It's his name people call
Is it too hard to say my name?
Or am I asking too much
from people who don't know me past the stage
Sometimes I ponder late at night
When the curtains fall and,
the stage begins to darken,
If that's my cue to leave the stage.
The stage is my playground,
It's the centre of my universe -
I've been Him for so long
I don't even remember the me from before.
Sometimes I feel empty inside
Like a vessel without the soul
Had I somehow forsaken the essence of humanity
In my endless thirst for fame?
It's his name people call
Is it too hard to say my name?
Or am I asking too much
from people who don't know me past the stage
Sometimes I ponder late at night
When the curtains fall and,
the stage begins to darken,
If that's my cue to leave the stage.
The Mirror
Sometimes I wonder if people can see through this mask of mine
That I'm not so perfect afterall
That I have flaws to hide
I'm human after all.
Can you see through this mask of mine?
Can you see the me I've hidden away?
I don't know if you can see past the blinding smiles
I'm not as happy as you think I am.
