Indulge yourself...when you can't think straight.

Labour Day for me this year can be summed up in one word: INDULGENT.

I woke up rather late at about ten plus in the morning and had a sandwich for brunch. While lounging around (yes, no housework for today!) I realised that there is absolutely nothing worthwhile on the telly, only reruns after reruns. And it's encore of the lousiest dramas to boot. And not to mention there was not even a special on the kids' channels. Dang it. Thank goodness my mum had already planned for my sis and i to accompany her to Expo where there were three or four sales going on concurrently. (Let's see...there's the courts warehouse, metro sale, harvey norman sale...bags and apparel sale...erm, yeah). YAY mum!

If you think I headed to all the sales, you've guessed wrong - I only went for the Metro sale although I'd confess I was tempted to step into the Harvey Norman sale and look at the prices of the electronic products. Heh. Anywhos, the crowd wasn't as large as I expected, considering it was a public holiday but who am I to complain? Grabbed me a shirt for graduation, two ties and a couple of other pieces that I had not bought during the previous John Little sale (although come to think of it, I HAVE forgotten to buy some other things but those can wait...). I think I've spent something like 150 bucks on clothes this month alone.

After dragging ourselves out with our steals, we actually made a pitstop at Simei, bought shoes and then my dad and his cravings called.

Him: "One whole roasted chicken"

Me: *facepalms*

The nearest place that we could think of that sold a whole roast chicken was Woodlands Cold Storage so off we went. And we came out there with two tubs of ice-cream, bags of chips and non-essentials basically. There were also a couple of cute little stores outside the hypermart so let's just say we bought more food home. And the night market beckoned with its canvas tents so it meant more food! Man, I feel like a women glutton~

Surprisingly, everything edible was polished off except the roast duck and chicken so those would be breakfast for tomorrow - IF I can be bothered to wake up early enough to make spring rolls or something. I ain't having a sandwich again.

And I can never understand why I subject myself to torture that is viewing any horror film - specifically asian horror films. They were showing this Malay film 'Congkak' and let's just say I think the congkak set at home will be left rotting for a couple more years. Granted, the film wasn't as scary as 'Jangan Pandang Belakang' (Don't Look Back) but gah...I'm still a tad freaked out. T.T Still, despite being scared (not that it takes a lot to scare me, I'd happily admit) there were a couple of things that I didn't like about the show but I shan't go on about it. Don't even get me started on the characters like the damn stubborn-headed father, that goon.

And why must ghost stories now have elderly old women as the ghosts? Why can't it be elderly old men or better yet, hot looking youths? Just imagine...some Adonis playing the Orang Minyak (Oily Man) - although in such a situation, the character should instead be oiled with massage oil instead of black tar, hence highlighting the physique. Hmm...food for thought eh? Okay, I think that might be venturing into soft porn. Eeeks. >.< Ok, forget I mention this paragraph. :)
So...how was your labour day?

Come to think of it, I was actually scared of the horrendously bad make-up than the actual ghosts. *facepalms*

Hehe - sorry darling for making ya hungry! I hope you're feeling better though; take care of yourself ya?

Don't get me started. Traditionally, ghosts in SEA are sexless, ie no mentions of sex. It was the influence of outside forces, aka religion, trade and etc ideas that reinforced gender roles.

Also, no hot youths, cause hot young youths = warm and therefore clean, ghosts = cold and unclean. Is it still a ghost if you actively look forward to it, rather than running from it?
