The fasting period is close to approaching its end...well it's reaching the halfway point anyways. Therefore, it calls for shopping. I got the baju kurung already - I swear, someone needs to start catalogue shopping for them. It's almost nauseating to go to Geylang - too many people all jostling together under those giant humongous white tents. And they said they'll have more ceiling fans and what nots. And wider passageways and what nots. Instead, I get the same kind of restrictive, positively infuriating and stifling environment that deters me from coming back a second time.
Anywhos, I got that done AGES ago. Therefore, it was time to get the semi-formal clothes. I think I need to get a shopping buddy the next time I need to get something.
Shopping for clothes has often been a rather arduous task for me partly because of my built. There's always a good and a bad point to being thin. Good point? I can still fit clothes from two-three years ago; bad point? Few clothes actually fit. Unless I buy womenwear (which honestly, I'm so tempted to do so sometimes).
Shirts and tees are pretty simple to get because if I can't get a S / M for adult, I'll just head over to the children's section and grab a L. It used to work until now. But shirts don't have a tendency to slip down your shoulders - even if it's about a size too large for you. UNLIKE pants. I DISLIKE, I HATE, I ABHOR buying pants. Unless they're tailor made which is a completely different thing altogether (tailor made are like the best because they fit you nicely but they're hell to pay).
Pants - the smallest pant size stores stock? 29.
I'm unfortunately often a 27. That's my hips. Thank god people wear pants on their hips nowadays - rather than their waist as fashion dictated way back in the 1990s; (circa 1994 I think). I'm digressing. So put it this way, I can often fit two chickens down my pants or if I'm TRULY lucky, be able to share the pants with someone. 8D *kicks kinky thoughts away - damn you, I need to stop thinking of new plunnies*
Even up to today, I have pants I can never wear unless I wear a belt to the smallest hole. (I basically have one belt - a kid's belt. Adults belt, like pants never fit. TOO long) Pants make me look like I just stepped out of a slimming centre ad - those that portray a slimmer women in bigger pants or whatever.
Anywhos, this year round, I was oh so freaking lucky! I scored TWO pants that can actually fit. And by fit, of course I mean I'd still need a belt but it was able to hang on my hips without slipping. One was a 28 black, the other a 29 navy. And it took me three trips to the dressing room before i decided to hang to them.
But usually, you'd have bought only a pair of pants and a shirt right? Therefore, I was forced to make a call. To get the black or the navy (both of which fits nicely like I've mentioned - which is akin to striking the lottery TWICE).
Being alone, I walked around the store several times, deciding. Before I called home and sought advice. T.T And my mum said the WORST possible sentence ever - "You decide."
Omg. That got me into a fix. I'm starting to sound like an indecisive prick of a shopper huh?
In the end, I succumbed and bought both. And grabbed a shirt for 20. Of course, the shirt was black. But try as hard as I might, I just couldn't find a vest. (I fell in love with vest all over again because of the Missin U performance. Ryeo's outfit was TOO cute to resist! <3 ) Maybe I'll have better luck soon.
But oh god, I almost screamed for joy when the registers rang ONLY $52.80. A FREAKING steal, I tell you. <3
lmao. I won't take a picture of the clothes because well, it can't be THAT hard to imagine. :P
AND kakkobean drew me this wonderful picture. I requested a picture of someone holding a flower and the wonderful result below.

I am SO in love with the picture!!! <3
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH kakkobean for the gift! Now I'm supposed to post something but...until I'm sure what exactly I'm supposed to post, until then admire kakkobean's lovely sketch.
